Chris Schoensee

Christopher Schoensee is the President and Co-Owner of Paragon Flight Training, based in Fort Myers, Florida. His leadership has positioned the academy as a leading force in ab initio flight training in the United States, boasting top-notch safety credentials and accreditations from both the FAA and SEVIS. Paragon Flight Training provides comprehensive programs for recreational and commercial pilots, collegiate aviation students, and specialized military pilot training, focusing on fixed-wing piston aircraft.

Under Schoensee's guidance and a robust growth strategy, Paragon Flight Training has achieved significant milestones. A pivotal 10-year partnership with Lee County Port Authority in March 2021 doubled fleet operations and expanded capabilities at Page Field. Additionally, a strategic acquisition agreement with Piper ensures a steady supply of training aircraft through 2026. The academy's expansion includes the integration of advanced Learning Management Systems (LMS) and proprietary flight school management software, enhancing operational efficiency and the student training experience.

In response to the increasing demand for professional pilots and the national commercial pilot shortage, Schoensee initiated a strategic growth initiative in late 2020. This initiative includes the construction of a 15,000 square foot maintenance and MRO facility, coupled with an 8,000 square foot pilot development, simulation, and learning center. Geographic expansion and new partnerships underscore Paragon Flight's commitment to excellence and innovation in aviation training.

Originally from Michigan, Schoensee's path to aviation leadership began with a distinguished career in industrial automation, advancing from a repair technician to the Vice President of Operations. His solid understanding of mechanics is complemented by academic pursuits in industrial technology and fluid power controls, alongside marketing studies at the Wharton School online. Obtaining his pilot certification through Paragon Flight in 2009 before assuming ownership, Schoensee remains actively engaged in the aviation community, serving on advisory boards, including the AOPA Flight Training Advisory Board, chairing the Horizon Council Aerospace Advisory Board, and actively participating in the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).
